Best fishing in Sitka Alaska with IslandView Resort & Charters
Great Fishing, Great Outdoors, Great Times.

Before the sun comes up, our crew is already hard at work getting the fleet warmed up and the fishing gear ready. A short stroll from the lodge to the dock and you’ll soon be caught up in the excited buzz of energy; amidst the flurry of deckhands cutting bait and Captains making plans for the day. Before you know it, you’re welcomed aboard, sipping hot coffee and watching the lodge grow smaller as you head out for the fishing grounds. Depending on what you’re fishing for, it may take anywhere from 20 to 80 minutes of running time to get to the prime fishing spots.

Our Season

Best times to fish in Sitka based on species:

Sitka fishing is unique. We are located along the outer coast of Southeast Alaska where we intercept large migrating schools of wild king salmon. The many islands surrounding Sitka also offer excellent opportunities all season long to fish alongside deep continental shelves for the highly prized halibut and other bottom dwelling species. Feeding Coho salmon move into Sitka waters by about the middle of July with an 8-10 pound average and the potential of putting on a pound each week. The silver salmon fishing remains strong through August with some reaching 18-20 pounds by early September.
