Owner Kevin McNamee probably never dreamed that being on the ocean for the first time would change his life, but it did. He traveled far from his small midwestern town to take on the adventure of a charter deckhand job in Sitka. What started off as a way to pay for college turned into a way of life. Now, nearly 20 years later, Kevin continues to make his living on the water in Sitka by operating IslandView Resort & Charters, LLC.

Kevin’s business partner and spouse, Tina, grew up in Sitka, Alaska, and is happy to be operating a fishing lodge in her home town. 2009 marks their 10th year of running IslandView Resort & Charters, and every season brings terrific fishing stories, as well as new and old friends. "It's wonderful to hear people tell us that we truly are part of lifelong memories," says Tina McNamee, co-owner. "We also feel fortunate that so many of our guests have been with us from the very beginning. Now every summer seems less like work and more like a reunion of great friends."
